The short version
- Your data is stored only on your device. We have no servers that receive it, and we can’t see it.
- No accounts, no ads, no trackers and no analytics.
- The app doesn’t connect to the internet. On Android, the published version doesn’t even have permission to use it.
- You decide when, and with whom, to share a backup or a report.
1. Who we are
Caporalia is an app developed by Noé Romero Alberto, doing business as Handyware Labs, based in Villahermosa, Tabasco, México (“we” or “us” in this policy).
This policy explains what happens to the information you use in Caporalia for Android, iPhone and Mac. If you have any questions, email us at handyware.labs@gmail.com.
2. Where your information is stored
Everything you enter in Caporalia is saved in a database inside the app’s private folder, on your own device. Photos are saved in that same folder. This includes:
- Animals: ear tag, name, category, breed, sex, dates, dam and sire, pasture, status, purchase and sale prices, notes and photo.
- Herd management: weighings, vaccines, treatments and withdrawal periods, breedings, pregnancy checks, calvings and milkings.
- Ranch: ranch name, a location you type yourself (the app does not use GPS), acreage, areas, pastures, pens, rainfall, storeroom and tasks.
- Finances: income and expenses, invoice number (the number only), budgets, receivables and payables.
- Staff: workers and payroll payments.
- Crops: cycles, field work, yields, harvest sales, soil tests and pests.
- Equipment: machinery, maintenance, hour meter, fuel, breakdowns, documents with photos (insurance, registration, inspections) and lent tools.
- Preferences: theme, language, reminder and backup settings.
We don’t receive a copy of this information, we can’t see it, and we don’t sell or share it. Because we have no copy, we also can’t recover it if it’s lost (see section 6).
3. Information we don’t collect
Caporalia has no user accounts and no sign-in. We don’t collect your name, email, phone number, location, contacts, advertising ID, usage history or crash reports.
The app shows no ads and includes no advertising, analytics or tracking tools of any kind.
Caporalia also works completely offline: the published Android version does not have the internet permission, so it cannot send data anywhere. On iPhone and Mac it doesn’t connect to any server either.
4. Other people’s data that you enter
Caporalia lets you record information about other people, such as the name, phone number, position and wage of your workers, or the names of your customers, buyers, suppliers or whoever has borrowed a tool.
That information also stays only on your device, and we have no access to it. Since you decide what to enter and how to use it, you are responsible for handling it lawfully and, where required, for having those people’s permission. We recommend entering only what you need.
5. Permissions the app asks for
Caporalia asks for a few permissions, each for a specific feature. None of them is required: if you deny one, the app keeps working without that feature, and you can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings.
| Permission | What it’s used for |
|---|---|
| Camera | Taking a photo of an animal or of an equipment document. On Android, the system camera is used. |
| Photos | Choosing a picture you already have. On Android, the system photo picker is used, which only hands over the photo you pick, with no access to the rest of your gallery. |
| Notifications | Reminders for vaccines, pregnancy checks, calvings, receivables and payments and, with Premium, tasks, field work, maintenance and expirations. They are scheduled on your device and work offline. |
| Run at startup (Android) | Rescheduling your reminders after the phone restarts. |
| Vibration (Android) | Letting reminders vibrate. |
| Files | Saving or opening backups and reports, only in the folders or files you choose. |
The app does not ask for your location, contacts, microphone, Bluetooth or the list of other installed apps.
6. Backups, reports and files you share
- Backups: the app creates a .zip file with your data and photos. You can make one manually or turn on automatic backups (daily, weekly or monthly) to a folder you choose. If that folder syncs to a cloud service such as Google Drive or iCloud, that service — not Caporalia — uploads the copy, and its own policies apply.
- Reports and sale sheets: Excel files, PDFs and sale sheets are created on your device. When you share them through WhatsApp, email or another app, the policies of that service apply.
- A backup contains all your information. Keep it somewhere safe and share it only with people you trust.
8. If you email us
If you send us an email (for example, with the app’s support button, which adds the Caporalia version to the subject line), we receive your email address and whatever you tell us. We use it only to reply and handle your request; we don’t share it or use it for marketing.
Our email runs on Gmail, by Google. We keep messages for as long as they help us support you, and you can ask us to delete them.
9. How to delete your information
- You can delete any record inside the app.
- Uninstalling the app deletes all the information stored on the device, except backups you saved to another folder or service. You delete those yourself.
- There is no account to delete, because Caporalia doesn’t use accounts.
10. Your rights
Under Mexican personal data protection law, you have the right to access, rectify, cancel or object to the processing of your data (known as ARCO rights), and to withdraw your consent.
Because the app’s information is only on your device, you view, correct and delete it directly in Caporalia. For any data you have sent us by email, write to handyware.labs@gmail.com with your request; we will reply within 20 business days at most. If you live in another country, you can use the same channel to exercise any rights your local law gives you.
11. Children
Caporalia is designed for adult ranchers and farm workers. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors.
12. Security
Your information is protected by your own device’s security. We recommend using a screen lock, keeping your system up to date and being careful where you keep your backups, since anyone who has the file can restore it.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. If a change affects how your information is handled (for example, if the app started connecting to the internet for another feature), we will also say so in the release notes or inside the app before it takes effect.
This policy was written in Spanish and translated into English. If there is any difference between the two, the Spanish version prevails.
